Petrova Pattern & New Site!

I started writing the Petrova quilt pattern a couple of months ago at this point. Shortly after QuiltCon 2026, if I remember correctly. Though I did recently run across an email I sent to myself last Fall, just a subject line that read “Quilt pattern with ombré arrows” which is Petrova-esque!

I have learned a lot during the pattern writing process. First, decide if you want to do 2 or more colorways. Don’t do quilt math late at night. It will be wrong. Hire a tech editor (I am so glad I did!). Have your pattern tested (also glad I’m doing this!).

But overall it’s been a pretty fun process even if it is a little stressful at times! I have to be in the right mood to sit down and make edits or check quilt math and tables and all of that. I tend to go into a trance so I need to have time to dive into it.
